As a partner in the Telemedicine Physicians Network, the physician’s primary responsibility is to provide Telemedicine Consultations through our Secure Telemedicine Consultation System via an online, telephone and secure email interaction to referred patients seeking to obtain telemedical consultations and possible refills of prescription medications.

Telemedicine Consultation Program (TCP)

You will establish a bona-fide patient/physician relationship as required by your state of licensure. We insist that our physicians comply completely with all state, federal and DEA rules relating to telemedicine prescriptions. The physician or his/her extender are also required to contact every customer by phone to discuss the customer's request and to allow the patient to interact with the professional who prescribes the medication. TCP physicians will log onto a secure online connection to access and review each case’s electronic medical records (EMR), medical history documentation, medication request and any other documentation, including physical examination results of patients who are referred to the physician, as well as the reason for the current consultation. Please note: If a patient requests prescription medications, based upon all case information, the physician either approves and issues a prescription (modifies it as needed), or denies a requested medication and recommends another course of treatment. Operational guidelines will be provided to all physicians.

How it works

Each day during scheduled work hours, the physician logs onto a secure telemedicine consultation program.

Telemedicine Consults

By logging into a secure physician administration page, the physician will pull up his Telemedicine Case Queue containing 10-50 new telemedicine cases with medical records, histories and possible refill requests. Each case will have three possible components:

  1. EMR Review (Physician review)
  2. Teleconsult (Physician consults patient by phone)
  3. E-prescribing

EMR Review

The medical records and histories are superior electronic medical records (EMR) and excellent evaluation tools, comprised of thorough medical assessments which cover both general medical history questions, family history and detailed medical inquiries relating specifically to the condition and prescription medication requested by the patient. In addition, recent (1-2 years) digital medical records are uploaded and accessible for the consultation. In many cases the information provided is much more detailed than most physicians have time to obtain in a rushed office environment.

Teleconsult

During the teleconsult, the physician will consult with the patient and discuss case, condition and history, and decide on a proper course of action. The Consulting Physician's job is to evaluate the medical history and condition information in each case, and based on that review either:

  • Approve
  • Reject
  • Put on hold and request be faxed an update of the patient medical history if one is necessary; call the patient and verify any additional information deemed necessary; or order a medical exam to continue the medical evaluation.

E-prescribing

If a patient requests prescription medication, the telemedicine physician will review all medical records and make a recommendation.

All partners are screened to make sure they comply with HIPAA. Our pharmacies are registered to distribute prescription medications in every state to which we ship and we comply with all pharmacy and physician-related regulations. The TCP Program provides one component of the professional support of our business (which uses only US licensed physicians and pharmacies).

Consulting physicians are given complete training in all aspects of utilizing the tools within the Telemedicine Consulting Program and soon become very comfortable in working as a telemedicine professional.

If you feel that you would like to find out more concerning our TCP Program, please contact us so that we can schedule a phone interview to take you through the medical evaluation process online.
